The Innovation: Earth exhibit highlights sustainability innovations that help us envision a greener future. From showcasing the cutting-edge to explaining existing technologies, this exhibit demonstrates the many ways we can change and enhance our lives while pursuing a carbon-neutral world.
The Innovation: Earth exhibit opening was a part of the Museum of Science’s larger yearlong initiative, Year of the Earthshot, a dedicated effort to spotlight climate action and sustainability. The exhibit logo and brand elements strove to work with the existing spotlight branding in addition to being uniquely identifiable and marketable.
Label strategy throughout the exhibit prioritized visualizing content where possible, in part, as a greater museum effort to create more visually digestible bilingual labels, but overall to make exhibit labels more engaging and informative for visitors.
Illustrations help explain the instructions to interactive components, how these innovative technologies function, and what role they play in a greater sustainability context.
We worked with Moment Factory to create an immersive and interactive cityscape in our gallery. This experience animates the technologies and innovations described in the rest of the exhibit. (More info available on the Moment Factory project site).
My role in creating this immersive experience was exploring initial concepts with our internal team, creating assets for early visual testing to facilitate conversation with our media partner Moment Factory, and bridging the Museum’s content perspective to visual art direction throughout the project's development.
While our exhibit mainly focused on institutional level changes, the Our community, our choices interactive asked individuals “would you rather” questions to prompt a choice between various personal sustainability practices.. This activity was developed in-house. I helped create illustrations and animations. (Storyboards and concept art by Sara Castellucci).
